Special Assessment for Aquatic Nuisances

The Sheridan Charter Township Board has established a special assessment district for the control of aquatic nuisance plants in Fremont Lake.  A committee has been established to review the needs of the lake each year.  This committee consists of a representative from Sheridan Charter Township, the City of Fremont, the Fremont Lake Association, and an ad hoc member from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.  Each year the committee will review the nuisance plants in Fremont Lake and make recommendations to the Sheridan Charter Township Board and the City of Fremont.  Parcel owners will be notified each year as to what will be done on the lake that year and the approximate cost.  It has been established that the maximum amount in any one year will not exceed $100,000.
